I'm writing this on behalf of my mother. B Whitehorse.
She cycled miles around the area of Bury, and has vivid memories of the Prisoner of War camp on the banks of the River Irwell. she was always a bit worried when going by it. Her biggest fear was crossing the Monkey Bridge over the Irwell close by
