British soldiers are united
As an army fit and strong
Confident with inspiration
Victory is their marching song
They have trained four solid years
They have suffered hardships grave
Yet, beneath their mournfull tears
They have hearts still true and brave
They are reminded of their comrades
Who were slain by German wrath
Men who stood and never yealed
To keep the enemy from our path
They were men with hearts of heroes
They -the men who fought and dared
To face the overwhelming Germans
While Great Britain got prepared.
"there will always be an England."
"Britons never shall be slaves,"
But how empty many homes are
And how crowded are the graves.
