Our Mother always took us to the Saturday Afternoon Pictures. On 14th September 1940 our Mother found that she was sixpence short and we were therefore unable to attend the Odeon Cinema Kemptown Brighton, instead she sent us out to play in the street. At 3.40pm a bomb made a direct hit on the front row just where we would have been sitting-the lack of sixpence saved our lives.
