This is a transcript of a postcard sent from Dad to Mum 17 July 1939 before they were married. The postcard is stamped CAIRO, Egypt:
Dear Dot

Just a card letting you know how I am getting along, we are all well darlilng, have started doing a little training this week. Otherwise we are not too busy. It is pretty warm here during the day but it gets nice and breezy at night. It is a different country altogether from India and so are its inhabitants. This is all now darling hoping this finds you in the best of health as it leaves me. O.K. Cheerio love.
Your loving Sweetheart Bob
