This is not so much of a story but more of an appeal to anyone who remembers seeing or coming into contact with Black American GI's or black members of the American Womens Army Corps (WAC's) in your area during WWII.
As part of a new film project supported by The Arts Council of England's scheme 'Home Front Recall' and The Lottery Fund, a small group are seeking to record memories, responses and recollections of Black GI's and WAC's. It is an area that isnt widely discussed and a very exciting new project.
If you have any memories please get in touch. The project will culminate in a reunion and filmed interviews.
With thanks,
Laura Emberson
