Liebenau Internment Camp, Germany

School was fun. Classes were not differentiated and we looked forward every Monday morning to the star pupil of the week whose name was printed on the board. The content of the lessons was very basic — a lot of mental arithmetic and spelling and the teachers were enormously patient and encouraging.
