We did not have any shops in Bodinnick so we had to do our shopping in Fowey. So when they had Oranges in Fowey people who had been shopping came back telling us "Oranges are In". Mother use to get her purse and tell my sister to keep an eye on me whilst she then raced off to catch the ferry to Fowey, the ferry fare was 1d. When she came home with the Orange she peeled it and shared the pasties (segments) between my brother, sister and myself. If there was a pasty lefter over Mother would eat it herself.
