As a young boy (just before the war) I lived in Poland with my two sisters. My mother was German and my father polish. As you can imagine when the war started that was a problem. I had to decide wether to fight for poland or for Germany. In the end when Poland was taken over I had no choice. I was sent into the Russian army in the freezing cold fighting for something I did not believe in. I stowed away with a friend of mine. We decided to go to England. We had to trek from Russia to France and then stow away to England. It took us over 3 years I think. On the way we had to steal raw potatoes from farmers fields to stay alive. When we finally reached England we split apart. He continued up North and I stayed with my wonderful love I had met Patricia. I hav'nt seen him since. I have lived here to this day and had three healthy children and six grand children. Sorry I havnt gone into detail but it would bring it all back again and I don't want ot do that.
