Borat DVD (2006)

Everyone but the Kazaks loved Borat's big screen outing. Putting on a fake 'tache, a cheap suit and silly accent, British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen managed to dupe average Americans into acting like, well, average Americans. The result was "funnier than cow in filing cabinet" and Cohen went on to bag a Golden Globe and the title of 'most sued man' since Ian Hislop. Is-a nice…

From Mouth Of Horse

Censored 'footages' from Borat's cross-country road trip include such hilarious happenings as a visit to doctor for catch herpes from sister; also risk infertility by wear dental floss for bathing suit on Malibu beach; and ask for one too many 'rubdown' from old man at great American massage parlour. And they call him a homophobe...

Perhaps the most telling scene of the batch is a montage of TV news reports aired in the wake of Borat's rabble-rousing appearance at a rodeo in Virginia. One disgruntled John Wayne wannabe speculates on the chances of the "son of a buck" getting 'skinned' before making it to the exit. He explains that the crowd is made of "simple, American, God-fearing, flag-waving persons," ominously adding, "Somewhere we'll run into him..." Cue the Deliverance banjo music.

Make Very Nice Chat

Borat hits the American chatshow circuit in his Global Propaganda Tour. He politely requests some red 'pubis' hair from Conan O'Brien, which is apparently a precious commodity in Kazakhstan (they only use the dark ones for cleaning pots and pans). On the Jay Leno Show he answers accusations of homophobia and anti-Semitism with a gushing "Thank you very much" while feminists in the Saturday Night Live audience come close to turning on him.

Borat DVD

There's also footage from the premiere at the Toronto Film Festival where the Kazakh journo had to do an impromptu stand-up routine after a dodgy projector chewed up the film print (and tries to make "sexy time" with lady in front row).

Finally, an infomercial for the CD soundtrack features brief renditions of such beloved Kazakh classics as "You Be My Wife" and "Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan: You Very Nice Place."

We are sorry for director Larry Charles is no-show, still this DVD guarantee to make even stone-face gypsy shed tears of laughing.
