Anyone who enjoyed the blockbuster "A Man Called Hero" on DVD will enjoy one of director Andrew Lau's earlier films, the ferocious "Young & Dangerous 3". Machetes fly and guns are drawn as Hong Kong gangsters go on a tour of Holland. What better way to enjoy their visit than on a rather good DVD?

Presented in its original ratio, the picture holds up rather well despite it not being anamorphic (a process which carries extra coding to create a more detailed picture on a widescreen TV). The colours are bright and despite some occasional softness, the image is clear.

The 2.0 sound mix sticks pretty closely to the centre speaker, although the music score is also present in the front left and right. It's hardly crazy in terms of effects, but there's nothing to complain about either.

Animated menus lead you to a small selection of extra features that include some good cast and crew biographies, trailers for the three films on the series, and a stills gallery.
