Series Overview
Baz has a baby boy (Louis) who is born by emergency Caesarean. Mike returns on a 6 month contract. Kate's husband, Trevor remains in a vegetative state. His daughter, Lorna pleads with Kate to turn off his machine.Gloria's thrown out of her flat.Richard has trouble seeing and walking. He's diagnosed with mutiple sclerosis.Baz returns to work but decides to reduce her hours after she sees a baby die.Trevor contracts pneumonia. Kate declines treatment and he dies.The staff arrange a surprise leaving do for Mike. Matt and Jude hit if off as do Richard and Gloria who leave together. Jude discovers she's pregnant by Matt. When she overhears Matt's been asked to run a bar in Crete she holds back the news. Richard is Gloria's knight in shining armour after her abusive ex comes looking for her.The staff celebrate Christmas with a James Bond themed party. Matt's stunned when Jude breaks the news but assures her of his support.Gloria and Richard spend Christmas together.Jude has an abortion.Richard tells Gloria about his MS.Baz's traumatised when baby Louis is brought in after overheating.Louis' nanny, Margaret tries to smother him.A patient accuses Charlie of sexual harassment and lodges a complaint. Josh loses his entire family in a fire at their house...
Josh is inconsolable and returns to work too soon.Matt accepts the bar job in Crete.At Matt's leaving do, Sam and Matt get into a brawl and end up in casualty. Kate's confronted by a violent drunk.Richard applies for a job elsewhere which upsets Gloria.Jude is stabbed by a heroin addict with psychiatric problems...
Jude's condition is critical and Matt flies back from Crete as soon as he hears the news.Josh breaks down and Liz suggests he see a counsellor.
