Listen to The Plymouths on South:Live - 28 September 2008Help playing audio/video It's a busy time for The Plymouths. As a band they've been going for several years, but in their current line up, the past few months have been particularly hectic. ![]() The band with Sally Taylor They're definitely sounding like a band on the up. Along with recording sessions in London they've been bagging ever higher-profile gigs - and now they're finding they've got interest from the music industry too. But the most obvious question first: why are they called The Plymouths when they're from Bournemouth? Lead vocalist Nick explains: "It's just one of those things. When we were forming the band, a couple of us had been in bands before and we needed a name, and one of us said 'Why not The Plymouths?' - and it's just stuck." ![]() Day jobsThe band are currently all still holding down day jobs - says Nick: "We're in studios in London and you meet Sting's guitarist and then you're back to work on the Monday and you think, 'What was that about?'."
