Monique, Tinderbox in the BBC Radio Solent studio

Tinderbox

Bournemouth-based 'folky-pop' acoustic duo Tinderbox appeared on Sally Taylor's BBC Radio Solent Saturday morning programme. Listen again to the interview and hear performances of two live tracks, taken from the band's new album, Golden.

Tinderbox is singer Monique Houraghan and guitarist Dan Tucker, and recently they've been busy gigging and writing.

The results of their hard work can be heard in their new album, Golden, recorded with a full band and due out on May 25.

Based in Bournemouth, they've built up a strong fan base in Dorset but have also been playing further afield, as folk-style music enjoys a resurgence in popularity.

Says Dan: "There's a lot of great singer songwriters around at the moment, which is great for us - it's a good time to be doing what we're doing."

Listen to the interview with BBC Radio Solent's Sally Taylor and hear Tinderbox perform new tracks Fall Down and Waiting for the Summer - both from the new album - live in session.
