Lulu is coming to Dorset

Lulu launches the Larmer Tree Festival!

Lulu will give music fans in Dorset something to shout about as she kicks off the Larmer Tree Festival tonight. A fantastic line-up for the opening night of the Festival sets the stage for a fantastic four days to follow.

You might not expect international stars to come to a field between Blandford and Shaftesbury. But that's exactly what's happening between 11 and 15 July at Dorset's Larmer Tree Festival.

Lulu will kick start the festival on tonight, joining Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.

The small songstress with the large lungs will also be joining Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and 24 superb musicians who will fill the stage with boogie woogie, blues and soul on a night to remember in the beautiful, Victorian Larmer Tree Gardens.

Singing out on the same night in support of Jools are firm favourites and friends of the Festival Show of Hands. The multi-talented folk duo were recently nominated for the Best Duo award at the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

A fantastic line-up for the opening night of the Festival sets the stage for a fantastic four days to follow.

Confirmed acts including Billy Bragg, Transglobal Underground, Los De Abajo, Baghdaddies, Pine Leaf Boys, Dreadzone, Mauvais Sort, Easy Star All-Stars, El Tanbura and many more to follow.

Festival-goers can also enjoy more than 100 creative workshops for children and adults, a fantastic Carnival Procession, street theatre, delicious food, free camping and showers.
