Judi's Pudsey auction raises £24,000!Listeners to BBC Radio Devon's Judi Spiers show have pledged more than £24,000 in the 2008 Children in Need auction. The 2008 Judi Spiers auction in aid of Children in Need has raised a whopping £24,000! On every morning throughout Children in Need week, items donated for the auction were sold to the highest bidders. We'd hoped that we could better last year's total of £10,000 - and in fact, with YOUR help, we managed to raise over twice as much. Among the donated items sold were a 14 night cruise of The Canary Islands, fly fishing and salsa classes, B&B, dinners and weekend stays at some of Devon top restaurants and hotels. ![]() The painting by Alan Cotton raised £5,010 Also snapped up were a day at sea with the Navy, a chance to 'meet' and clean out the the sharks at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, theatre tickets as well as many family and season passes to some of Devon's top attractions. One of the 'items' was an offer to do your ironing for the week! One of the more unique items donated was an original painting by Devon based artist Alan Cotton, which was up for grabs on Friday 14 November. The painting - entitled 'Piemonte – Hillside vines below Diano D'alba' - raised £5,010, with Nigel from Exeter putting in the winning bid. So a big thank you to everyone who donated items, and to all the listeners who took part in the auction. last updated: 15/11/2008 at 13:14 SEE ALSOYou are in: Devon > Children In Need > Judi's Pudsey auction raises £24,000! |
