Radio FeaturesYou are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Local Radio > Radio Features > Eat your ART out ![]() Eat Your ART Out Eat your ART outYou’ve sung with us in our Singing City Choir, you’ve performed with us in Coventry Market the Musical, now we want you to come and create something spectacular with us in Coventry this summer. All you need to do is love Coventry. If Coventry were a recipe, what ingredients would be used to make it? What makes it special and couldn’t be left out? The Cathedral, ribbon, Lady Godiva, cars, elephants, bikes, Phoenix, Frank Whittle, the ring road, The Specials? There are so many things that Coventry is famous for, we want to celebrate Coventry in a unique way. We will be working with Coventry people to create a special representation of the City . . . using food. We are looking for people who are creative, imaginative and love Coventry. ![]() Lady Godiva statue Food glorious foodWe’ll be creating a large outdoor sculpture representing Coventry’s culture, history, past and present, the difference is that the sculpture will be made from food. Made in six pieces, the food will reflect the community groups making each section. Artist Prudence Staite will be working with the participants to sculpt their Coventry. The final event will be held in Coventry city centre on Saturday, 5 September. Not only will the finished work of art be there to look at, but we’ll be inviting the city down to eat it! If you belong to a group or you are an individual and would like to join our listener group and would like to take part, please complete the form at the bottom of this page. Prudence Staite is an artist who specialises in art made out of food. She set up her own company Food is Art and has since gained a lot of attention with her unusual and quirky food creations, sculpting Chris Moyles’ head out of chocolate and Anne Robinson from Battenburg cakes. There will be lots of other opportunities to take part along the way. ![]() Coventry's Whittle Arches Groups will be selected by the end of June, so hurry if you want to take part. Made in EnglandIt's all part of Made in England which is a project looking at how the landscape, both urban and rural, enables people to create. There is something peculiarly English about the exchange of ideas and art. Made in England is all about celebrating the way the English landscape, and its population, enable creativity, in a rich exchange of ideas that migrate, visit or reside here. It's why the BBC and Arts Council England have joined together to try to capture a nation at creative full flow in the Made in England project. This project follows BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s previous highly successful award winning community projects Coventry Market the Musical!, Singing City Choir and Big Bard.
