If you missed it, hear it all again... The last time we featured Cornwall's Hollie Rogers, she was preparing for the biggest gig of her life so far, supporting Suzanne Vega in Falmouth. That was summer last year. Zooming forward to August 2009 and Hollie came into our studios in Truro to perform a live acoustic session on the David White Show. Click on the link below to hear the interview and acoustic set again: Help playing audio/video ![]() Hollie Rogers Hollie was born in Cornwall, and spent her teenage years enjoying all the area has to offer. But like many young people, during the winter months she found herself in need of something new. That was when Hollie decided to pick up the guitar and try her hand at songwriting. "It's all very nice down here, but after a while you want to do stuff, and everything seems to be so far away," explains Hollie. "I think if I had been living in a big city somewhere I wouldn't ever have started music." Hollie draws her influences from her friends and generally stuff that happens around her, both good and bad. ![]() Hollie singing live The first result of her passion for songwriting was her debut album, written, recorded and mixed here in Cornwall. Since 'Let Me Be the Shadow of Your Dog' came out Hollie has also supported Midge Ure and Fish from Marillion, as well as writing new material and. She's also found time to graduate from University. Hollie will be supporting Kate Walsh at The Acorn in Penzance on Saturday 3 October 2009.
