Blast

This week the event that was to be covered was somewhat more local (for me anyway!) in the form of ''Regatta Rocks!' Which was the final night of Charlestown Regatta, St Austell.

When we (eventually, thanks to St Austell traffic) arrived at the site, a night of live music was in store for us in the shape of 'Jailhouse', 'Back Beat Sound System' and 'Joey The Lips.'

The ground in the evening was kinder to our journalistic feet than our Leopallooza adventure, so we needn't bring the wellies for this outing!

Being somewhat gregarious so far with my musical contacts I managed to arrange an interview with the keyboard player of Back Beat Sound System for the Blast section of the website.

The interview took place after the band had played their set, Sam who plays guitar in the band also joined Elliot (aka Elf) to join us for a casual interview.

After this, Sophie and myself realised we had a somewhat 'unique' style of interviewing which is laid back, usually quite entertaining and generally involved playing off of each others questions. We are the the definition of teamwork!

Although the evening was full of high quality music, my favourite act had to be Back Beat Sound System, a local band who play their own brand of roots-rock reggae. They also, rather impressively have played Glastonbury whilst still in their first year of being together!
