BlastYou are in: Cornwall > Blast > Matt's Diary 4 ![]() Matt's Diary 4It's been a busy time for Blast reporter Matt Nicholas. In one weekend alone he went to a music festival near Bude, and then the following day was back in Truro to cover another massive event. Find out what he's been up to... Phwoar! Leopallooza was amazing! How more people don't know about this gem of a music festival is beyond me having now experienced it for myself. Having driven across Cornwall to Bude, where the festival is held. The task in hand was to find the festival site and get my pass to allow us firstly inside the festival and then be able to do our thing! ![]() Leopallooza Sophie and I had a great time taking photos of the bands performing, and interviewing St Agnes based Auction for the Promise Club directly after their set on the smaller stage. I am quite proud of myself because I managed to neither: A; Lose any of the BBC equipment, or B; Fall over in the huge amounts of mud! It was cool meeting some of the staff that organised the festival, as they had done a spectacular job in setting everything up, from the stages to the now signature Leopallooza burning car that was to illuminate the grounds as the sun set on North Cornwall. It was a bit harder getting photos of the main stage acts as the crowd drew in, but as it was darker the stage lights came into action and you could get some really colourful crowd shots! It was a slightly different story with the smaller stage as you could get quite close and get cool individual shots of people performing throughout the night. ![]() All The Fires at Gig on the Green Using my ability to function on an inhuman amount of sleep, the next morning I headed back to South Cornwall to report at Gig on the Green in Boscawen Park, Truro. I nestled myself by the What's On stage, which was in association with the West Briton. It was great seeing all the local bands and artists, in action, as there are few events that would have so many playing together on the same bill. Next up is Regatta Rocks in Charlestown, St Austell. A night of music including local roots rock reggae band ‘Back Beat Sound System’ who are sure to whip up a funky party storm. See you there. last updated: 06/08/2009 at 09:53 |
