BBC Blast arrived in Truro on Thursday 16 July 2009 with exciting free workshops and taster sessions in everything from dance and music to film, fashion and loads more.

Highlights include 'Film in 2 Days'. Working with professional film producers, write, film and edit your own Blast film over 2 days. From the initial storyboard through to the final cut, you take the lead. You can sign up for both days to get the whole film experience.

MOBO winner Akala will be in Truro

'Strictly Come Blasting' gives you the chance to try the moves you've seen on Strictly Come Dancing - led by professional teachers, learn the basics and the flair of the sensational salsa.

Skate Photography classes show you how to get the shots that show the action. Live skate action, captured by you in the taster session is backed up with support from professional photographer, Matt Pontin.

Another highlight in Truro will be 'Hip Hop Shakespeare'. You can catch up with MOBO award winner Akala and hone your writing and Mc'ing skills. It's your chance to enter a Hip Hop Shakespeare competition and win the chance to perform at the legendary Maida Vale Studios with Akala and Bashy to be broadcast on 1Xtra.
