BlastYou are in: Cornwall > Blast > BBC Blast On Tour ![]() BBC Blast On TourBBC Blast On Tour provides free three day creative workshops and drop in sessions for 13-19 year olds, focusing on music, fashion, art, dance and film, culminating in an open showcase on the final afternoon. The South West events take place on Lemon Quay in Truro on July 16-18 and Museum Square in Barnstaple on August 5-7, with six placements available at each location. Work experience candidates will get a genuine hands-on experience of running the events, including marketing, promotion and facilitating workshops. They will also have chance to put a specialist interest into practice. ![]() Former Blast reporter Alex Full Event Cornwall will be hosting 12 work experience placements for 18-24 year olds as part of the South West leg of BBC Blast On Tour. Event Cornwall director Claire Eason-Bassett said: “We are very excited to be in a position once again to be able to offer young people the opportunity to gain experience with live events. “We’re looking for candidates who have lots of initiative, energy and enthusiasm who can help bring out the creative side in other young people.” Rob Ratcliff completed a work experience placement with last year’s BBC Blast event in Truro, and has since attended an interview with BBC Switch for a Creative Trainee Scheme. Rob said: “We had a key role in the promotion of the event last year, as well as acting as ambassadors for the scheme, the event helped me work to my existing strengths as well as finding new strengths I wasn’t aware of.” For more information and to apply for a placement click on the link below.
