Find out more about the famous charity bear. Pudsey Bear has been an important part of the BBC Children in Need campaign for more than 20 years. Pudsey Bear made his debut in 1985, and has since appeared with countless celebrities. He's now the BBC Children in Need's mascot, official logo and a registered trademark. Royalties from the sale of all Pudsey merchandise benefit the charity. ![]() The new Pudsey Bear The new look is part of the BBC Children in Need new fundraising campaign, called 'Do Something Different'. This theme reflects the imaginative and energetic and fundraising activities, which take place in the days and weeks leading up to Friday 16 November, when thousands of people around the UK, from the BBC newsreaders, to school children and businesses, all do something a little bit unusual to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people. In his first major redesign since he became the charity's official logo in 1986, the cuddly bear has been rejuvenated for the digital age. Have you got an event planned for this year's campaign?
