St. George is celebrated each year on the 23rd of April as the Patron of England, representing ideals of bravery, chivalry, and faith. Although a 3rd-century Roman soldier born in Cappadocia (modern Turkey) who never visited England, he was adopted as the patron saint by King Edward III, symbolising English national identity, heroism, and the triumph of good over evil.
