Design a plant pot with a funny face

You will need
  • Paint and brushes
  • Coloured tape
  • Two old tins (one big, one small)
  • Paper napkin
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Sand

How to make a funny face plant pot

Note: You can ask an adult for help when using scissors.

  • The first step is to make a funky outfit. Get your paper napkin and paint it with as many colours as you want. 

  • While that dries, ask an adult to cover the open top of the tin with tape to protect you from sharp edges. 

  • Cover the tin with the painted napkin and decorate it with funny facial features, cut from cardboard. You can even make hair from card. 

  • When the painted napkin is dry, wrap it around the smaller tin with glue - then add another layer of glue on top to make the outfit shiny.

  • You can add more decorations to the outfit, like pompoms, glitter or more coloured card. 

  • Pour sand into the small tin to make it sturdy.

  • Glue the bottom of the big tin to the top of the small tin. 

  • All that's left is to get your favourite seeds or plant, and house them in your brand-new pot!
