Are you a Crime Cracker?

Have you and your friends started a group or campaign to improve the quality of life on your estate or neighbourhood and succeeded in bringing down crime?

The BBC is looking for people who've taken action alongside the police in order to make a difference.

In September the BBC will showcase a day of crime reporting looking at the issues that matter to people in every part of the United Kingdom.

Part of the coverage will include the best crime fighting initiatives in the eastern region.

Take Wisbech's Business Against Crime Partnership, run by Cambridgeshire Constabulary - a combined force of 40 businesses in Wisbech has cut crime by 50 per cent in the under six months.

Wisbech police say the partnership has proved to the rest of the town that joint action against crime really works, and now they are encouraging even more businesses to sign up to the scheme.

If you and your neighbours have become modern day Sherlock Holmes or just banded together to do simple things which have reduced crime then we'd like to hear from you.
