CANCELLED - Fahrenheit Festival - Wimblington - 7th 'til 9th August, 2009*************************************** This is the official cancellation statement from Paul Salter, Skylark Showground chairman, released on Tuesday 4th August, 2009Despite being fully supported by 90 bands from around the UK, at the last moment London-based film and record producers have decided to cancel this year's Fahrenheit music festival at the Skylark Showground in Cambridgeshire. Blaming poor ticket sales and the recession, show organisers stated that the show could not go ahead this year. Skylark Showground chairman, Paul Salter said: "Of course we are saddened by this last minute news but we are in probably the worst recession ever known and we sympathise with the film and record industry officials. "On a brighter note," said Paul, "all of our own shows are having an excellent year with very strong support coming from mums, dads and children in the Fenland community, so although the national picture looks gloomy, the local shows are doing extremely well."
