February half-term, 2007Monday 12th - Friday 16th February: Lightworks - Peterborough Museum There is a wide range of fun activities during half-term week, Monday 12th – Friday 16th February to occupy all the family at Peterborough Museum on Priestgate, with an interactive Science exhibition 'Lightworks' and daily family activities. The activities are being produced with Peterborough Family Learning.
'Lightworks' is a touring hands-on exhibition about the properties of light. Visitors can see how mirrors alter their reflection, find out how spectacles work, mix colours in light or have a go at targeting lasers with a variety of interactive displays. The exhibition provides fun and interest for all the family as well as tying in with the national science curriculum for schools. Visitors can also meet a costumed character each day representing one of history's most famous scientists, Galileo, the creator of the telescope. Each morning Galileo will be in the Lightworks exhibition helping visitors with the displays, whilst each afternoon between 2pm and 4pm he will be leading 'inventing' workshops for children, creating mechanical marvels with junk materials.
