What do you think of the plans for the pier - could this mean new life for the seaside resort? We'd love to hear what you think.

If Levitate Architecture (Picture 2) were the winners of the Birnbeck Pier design competion I have two questions. If that ridiculous design was the winner what did the loosers look like? Who on earth were the people who chose this winning design?

I spent many holidays at Weston as a child and remember the old pier fondly. Ihope the current plans are successful and revitalise the whole area

im only ten years old so dont remember the pier but my nan loved itso i do hope that i willbe able to go on it soon i have lots of postcards and books about when it was open and its one of my favourite piers also i wish they could have done something about the west pier brighton.

it would be nice to see it happen so far its been just promises,but it would bring many more visitors so best of luck

I have no idea why,I have always felt a very strong connection with this pier, there has always been a very strong pull for me to visit the island and see the times gone by and all the things which have happened. I understand this is a grade 2 listing so I cannot comprehend some of the ideas and designs wnich have been submitted for its redevelopment. I wish so very much that what is decided on retains the beautiful victorian architecture which is already in place, admired and loved by so many. I have trouble actually putting into words how strongly i feel about this and am just as strongly sure that I am not alone in my thoughts. If you could find the time to publish this somehow please I am sure you will see that I am not alone in my thoughts and feelings.
