Scene from Saw 2

A must-watch for horror fans!

By site user Salma Noor
The sequel to last year's scariest movie has finally arrived. For those of you who are not familiar with the storyline, let me fill you in…

A serial killer known as 'Jigsaw' is on the loose. '‘So what’s new?' I hear you asking. Well, this 'Jigsaw' is not really a killer, but by placing his victims in very dangerous and life-threatening situations, he forces them to take their own lives.

I remember feeling extremely awed after watching the first one, with its unique storyline and clever ending; I certainly did not expect a follow-on. So when I hear that a sequel was to be released at Halloween, you can only imagine my excitement!

At first I was rather disappointed to discover that Saw 2 would not be directed by James Wan, the genius who introduced us all to the amazing Saw last year. Nevertheless, I was still determined to watch the second part.

The first five minutes of Saw 2 are excellent, as they set a great pace for the duration of the film. Many of you will recognise a couple of familiar faces from the original, but the similarities end there.

"Saw 2 beats the original by far in one specific department - bloodshed."

Saw 2 unfolds many dark and revealing facts about the maniac behind the sick and twisted games. Yet, at the same time this enables us to understand him a little bit more.

Though not as scary and heart-stopping as its predecessor, Saw 2 beats the original by far in one specific department - bloodshed. With many more victims, you are guaranteed more games, more boogie traps, and, oh yes, a lot more blood!

As for the end of the film, if you were taken aback by part one, then you are in for a heavenly treat with this one. Saw 2 has an ending that will not only shock you, but will also prepare you for part three…

So, for those of you who enjoy gory and bloody films, this is an opportunity for you to indulge yourself in it all, and for those who cringe at the sight of blood, like me, I suggest you go and watch it anyway.

Thoroughly exciting and endurably thrilling, a must-watch for everyone who loves horror movies!
