Lithuanian Ten-Dance specialist Iveta Lukosiute blushed when she was paired with hunky former rugby star and model Thom Evans, and the duo’s first dance – an intense Waltz amid candlelight – can have only made matters worse!

But the far-from-gruesome twosome are more than just very pretty faces. In Movie Week, the pair performed a cheeky big-apple-themed Charleston to ‘New York New York’ from On The Town. The dance impressed all five judges, and Team Evaneta were given a healthy 38 out of 50 overall.

New Strictly pro-dancer Joanne Clifton was delighted to get Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills as her first-ever partner, and judging from their regular beaming social media updates, it’s safe to say the feeling is mutual!

Alas, their rocking Cha Cha Cha in Week One didn’t fill the judges with sunshine, and Len even described it as the sort of dance that would be ‘better on the radio’.  Scott and Joanne found themselves bottom of the first Leaderboard of the series with a score of 16.

Movie Week saw Scott feeling a bit shellfish: he performed a Samba in a crab outfit to ‘Under The Sea’ from The Little Mermaid! Craig described it as like watching ‘a lobster on acid’.

It’s a match made in heaven for cheeky Essex boy TV and radio presenter Mark Wright and his fun and fiery pro-dancer Karen Hauer. The duo put together a creative, construction-themed Cha Cha for their first dance, which Mark finished with a flourish – a move called ‘the caterpillar’. But was the footwork al-Wright on the night? Team MarKarena gained a respectable mid-table score of 24 points.

Our lovable blondes, Pixie Lott and Trent Whiddon, received the ultimate assurance they’re a match made in heaven when Judge Craig informed them in Week Two: “You guys make a fantastic partnership; you really suit one another.”

She’s a pint-sized Polish pro-dancer (Ola Jordan) with a serious Strictly pedigree; he’s a muscle-bound all-round action hero (Steve Backshall) who’s dived with great white sharks, abseiled down waterfalls, scaled volcanoes, and handled some of the deadliest animals on Earth. What’s not to love about team Stevola?!

Brendan Cole is Sunetra Sarker’s New Zealand dream of a dance partner and Sunetra – or Doctor Dance - has scrubbed up well in sequins and made her partner proud already.

So far, there haven’t been any diagnoses of two left feet – or any other dance-inhibiting diseases - and we’ve even witnessed a few sexy ‘X-Ray’ted moves - so far so good! But will it be a smooth operation all the way through?

Auctioneer, presenter and twinkly-eyed charmer Tim Wonnacott is one of the most dapper men on TV, and his Australian pro-dance partner Natalie Lowe doesn’t scrub up too badly either! No wonder then that the couple have adopted the name Team Priceless for their Strictly run.

Week One saw the glittering duo perform a Cha Cha to ‘Shop Around’ by Captain & Tennille, which all the judges but Craig praised as entertaining and personality-led. Sadly, this only translated into a total score of 18, leaving them perilously close to the bottom of the first Leaderboard.

Movie Week was also less of a blockbuster. Natalie and Tim’s Charleston to Money Money left them bottom of the Week Three rankings, with Craig especially unimpressed. He awarded Team Priceless a 2 for their efforts!

Grimsby boy Kevin Clifton made the Strictly headlines last year alongside newsreader Susanna Reid when the duo came tantalisingly close to clinching the Glitterball Trophy at the final. This year, Kevin’s been paired with pop megastar, Frankie Bridge, who as well as a number-one single and four top-10 albums with The Saturdays, has also been voted fourth sexiest woman in the world! (So you could say they make for an aesthetically pleasing partnership.)

When it comes to Strictly, English Gent, Anton Du Beke, is always game. This year, tennis coach, Judy Murray, is certainly set. But will they make the perfect match?  

For their debut on the dancefloor, Team JuBeke Waltzed to Wings’ ‘Mull of Kintyre’, but it had a few too many foot faults to ace it with our judges, resulting in a first score of 18. Craig felt ball-room boy Anton was dragging Judy around and Darcey thought the nerves were showing. (But at least we got to see Anton in a kilt, which Len said was working!) Bruno believed better was to come, stating: “now you’ve got the taste of it, take a deep breath, enjoy it, and next week you will do better.” Good job Bruno’s a judge and not a mystic, as sadly, his prediction was not to be...

Siberian pro-dancer Kristina Rihanoff wasn’t feeling Blue after her pairing with pop-star Simon Webbe. The duo put in some serious training for their Week One dance – a kick, trick and flick-heavy Jive to ‘Good Golly Miss Molly’, which had Bruno likening Simon’s bounce to ‘a frisky rabbit’. The routine closed the show on an energetic high and earned the duo joint-third place, with 27 points.

Take EastEnders’ resident womanising hard-man, pair him with a passionate Rumba fanatic, throw in a fiery Week One Tango, and what do you get? Team JanJakey! (Also known as actor Jake Wood and his professional dance partner Janette Manrara)

The pair were early competitors for the glitterball trophy when they came second in Week One’s Leaderboard with their Tango to Britney’s ‘Toxic’. Team JanJakey’s incredible gravity-defying Salsa routine left the audience on their feet, Tess speechless, and the judges gushing praise. ‘One of the best Salsa performances I’ve seen in a long time,’ declared Darcey, while Craig announced that Jake’s hips ‘could crack coconuts’!

Presenter Caroline Flack is paired with seasoned pro Pasha Kovalev! But will they present the moves they need to hack the competition?

In Week Three Guest Judge, Donny Osmond, gave Caroline the ultimate compliment, stating: “I forgot who the celebrity was and who the pro was, it was that good. I'm telling you Caroline, you are in this competition for a long time baby.” They were blown away with a total score of 42 out of 50. But can they keep on creeping up the Leaderboard? Bubbly Brummie Alison Hammond and cheeky, charming past Glitterball champion Aljaž Skorjanec couldn’t have been more excited about their pairing. But aside from all the fun they’re having, will Aljaž manage to make it to the top for a second year running? Team Ali’s debut dance – the Cha Cha to Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ – suggests they might just be in with a Cha Cha chance! Craig stated the performance was “one of the most confident first dances we’ve ever had”. Not bad from Craig.
