The Introducing discovery this week is something rather thundery & tribal out of the north-east from a 17 year old singer-songwriter called Natasha Haws.

She has gained support from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing in Newcastle for her elegant & forbidding track Stranger, so let it sweep you away & enjoy!

Huw's BBC Introducing Discovery: Peardrop - Dragon

The BBC Introducing Discovery this week is from Hereford's Peardrop, she's a 24 year old that's been making music since her teens, taking inspiration from Nirvana and '90s pop.

Her track Dragon has a calm electronic feel to it, drawing comparisons with Purity Ring, so if you like it, grab the track for free on my Radio 1 Download.

This week's Introducing track Hey Now is a great find from a four piece band consisting of Jack, David, Ian and Sam who go by the name of Injured Birds. They've described their sound "plinky soul" or "art folk" and it was passed onto us by BBC Introducing in Nottingham, which at the moment is a hotbed of quality music laying claim to No.1 album selling Jake Bugg and Dog Is Dead.
This week's discovery is a banger from a 25 year old producer and DJ called Primer, also known as Zak Tysoe. His studio is in a converted chicken shed which he shares with various mice, cats and spiders - they must be great inspiration though as he's producing some lush beats, like on this track, Dawn Skyline. BBC Introducing in Northampton was impressed, and passed this onto us for a spin on my Wednesday night show on BBC Radio 1. Nice!
And even better - for the next 30 days you can get this track for free on my Radio 1 free download.

Huw's BBC Introducing discoveries - Sam Geoghegan and Indiana

It’s a special bumper edition of BBC Introducing goodness this week blog fans – with not one but two tips that I’ve been loving from the BBC Introducing local shows around the country.

First up is Sam Geoghegan from York. He’s a 20 year old student making beautiful acoustic tunes, and BBC Introducing in York & North Yorkshire are loving his work. This track is called ‘Lions Feed’.

And tip number 2 comes from singer-songwriter Indiana, with ‘Blind As I Am’. She’s one of BBC Introducing in Nottingham’s favourite up and coming artists, and her session for them has already got over 40,000 views online. If you haven’t heard her already, get ready to love her blissed out and atmospheric tunes.

This week's BBC Introducing discovery is Silverclub with Your Headphones. This lot have a really intriguing sound...and I like it! They are a Manchester group based around one Duncan Edward Jones, joined by his friends Chris McGrath, Henrietta Smith-Rolla and Jim Noir - an artist in his own right who you might have heard on my show before. They've released an album and an EP, and BBC Introducing in Manchester love them so much they got them in for an acoustic session. They passed the track onto us at Radio 1, and I played it on my Wednesday night show - listen from midnight every Wednesday on BBC Radio 1 if you want to hear more!

Huw's BBC Introducing discovery: Peter and The Kibbutznik

This week's BBC Introducing discovery is Peter and The Kibbutznik from BBC Introducing in Kent, and the sound of this track Wolf It All something pretty hard to categorize. They're a duo from Gravesend/Dartford, one half being the alter-ego of singer-songwriter Steaming Heathen. He says this may be the first and last ever song by Peter and The Kibbutznik, but we hope not - this is 2 minutes of noisy, bonkers brilliance that blew us away.

Huw's BBC Introducing discovery: Joel Hoddell

Every week, Huw Stephens plays a track on his Radio 1 show tipped by one of our local BBC radio shows across the country. We're now sticking it on the blog for everyone to listen to and share. Here's Huw to explain this week's choice.

My BBC Introducing discovery of the week is a bit of a banger. It's from Joel Hoddell, a young producer from Hereford who divides his time up between going to college and making excellent beats. BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester loved it so much they got Joel in for a session earlier this year. Pumping, peaktime dancefloor eurphoria-inducing bizniz. Here's his track Pulse - check it out!
