In an ambitious, on-going project we’ve created 'Making Who' as a space where you can access videos, interviews, pics and more that show you the reality of television production. Some of the content is brand new and other items are cherry-picked from the best material we’ve released over the past year. We hope it’ll be interesting, helpful and stimulating and we’d love to hear from you about what you think of it and what else you’d like to see added to ‘Making Who’.

Let us know by emailing us at thedoctor@bbc.co.uk

In the meantime you’ll find videos that provide masterclasses in writing, visual fx, storyboarding, producing, acting and much more. In the weeks ahead we’ll be adding to ‘Making Who’ and hopefully running some live Twitter Q&As where you can engage with programme makers and get even more insider knowledge about how Doctor Who is created and the wider television industry.

Doctor Who has always inspired its audience to become engaged with the creative aspects of story-telling. Many well-known figures, such as Peter Capaldi and David Tennant, were drawn to the industry, in part, because of Doctor Who. We’re hoping to continue that fantastic tradition… Could you be a future Doctor? Or someone who writes his adventures, designs his worlds or produces the magic that is Doctor Who? If you’re nodding your head right now, well, we hope ‘Making Who’ helps you move closer to your goal.

Don’t forget to email us and tell us what you think and what you’d like to see! Contact us at thedoctor@bbc.co.uk and use the subject header, ‘Making Who’. Thanks!

Michael Pickwoad is the Production Designer for Doctor Who, responsible not just for the sets of the show, but the look of much of the Doctor’s world. This is your chance to ask him anything you’d like to know!

Simply email your questions to TheDoctor@bbc.co.uk or tweet your questions to us at @bbcdoctorwho

A highly respected, BAFTA-nominated Production Designer, Michael joined the Doctor Who team back in 2010, receiving his first credit on the show for his work on A Christmas Carol. Since then he has designed everything from a pirate ship to a time ship; the Dalek asylum, Orient Express in space, Trenzalore, Missy’ s ‘heaven’ and a whole lot more. Perhaps most famously he designed the current version of the TARDIS interior and we’re about to see more of his stunning work throughout series 9…

Let us know what questions you’d like us to put to Michael and we’ll select the best and most imaginative and put them to him. We’ll bring you videos of his answers very soon!

As usual, here’s the bit we must emphasize: we’re looking for the most interesting and creative questions! It’s essential to avoid talking too much about upcoming storylines… Those secrets will be revealed when Series 9 hits our screens!

So, get tweeting or emailing and let us know what you want to know from the man who designs alien worlds…
