Guru drinking in Northern India

More than 60 people from various cultural backgrounds submitted their photos of their experiences, journeys, adventures in Asia.

The exhibition, called 'Re-expoasia: Realities of Presence, Remains of Memory', includes images from India, Pakistan, China, Japan, Tibet, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as images from the Middle East.

Photographer Vitesh Vithlani from Nuneaton, whose work is on display in the exhibition, says:

"My picture is of a Guru drinking, I took it when I was in Dwarka in North India. I came across a refreshment store where there was a man meditating, local people told me he was 100 years old."

Family infront of the Taj Mahal

Jyoti Chauhan from Darlastan, who has also contributed to the project, says:

 "The image of my family in front of one of the seven wonders of the world makes me happy. It gives me a sense of togetherness as now the family has grown and moved on. Photos are a good trigger and a key to visit memory lane and re-living that moment in time."

Re-expoasia Exhibition

Preya Chauhan from the Contemporary Asian Arts Group says: "This exhibition is about sharing the tender and personal Asia we love and know, whist throwing in some real maverick memories in the mix."

'Re-expoasia: Realities of Presence, Remains of Memory' runs until 1st February 2009.

It's part of a larger exhibition called 'Re:Imagining Asia' which explores the meaning and relevance of the term 'contemporary Asian art' in the 21st century.

'Re:Imagining Asia' runs from 13th February – 4th May 2009.
