| | If you've ever wondered who's going to be the next big thing on the music scene, then REACT! is the place to look as music moguls from within the record industry will be among the 1000+ audience - many of whom will be eager to find the next Robbie Williams, Beyonce or Atomic Kitten. The Birmingham School of Acting was a hive of activity on Sunday 18 April as it became home to the REACT! auditions for the day. With over 50 acts taking part, it took more than 11 hours to watch all of the 150 young performers as musicians, singers, actors and dancers were put through their paces. Covering the complete spectrum of performance styles, from Chinese dancing to hip hop, via Shakespeare and Busted, the hunt was on to find the best of Birmingham's young talent.
Mark Oldknow, Creative Director of REACT! said: "I never imagined it possible to have so much talent in one place. We were extremely impressed with the high standard of all of the acts that auditioned and it was a very difficult task making the final selection. We normally only select 12 acts for the show, but there were so many fantastic performances we just had to squeeze in a few more!" | | Singer Lhamea |
The 15 successful acts perform at the Alexandra stage on Saturday 22 May 2004.
Paul Coxwell, the show's producer, said: "Now it's your chance to experience young talent, as you've never seen it before: totally live, entirely young and completely local! From salsa to hip-hop, pop groups to opera, this is the only way to catch young talent at its best." |
