As he sheds the pounds he needs your help to raise a few pounds for Kidney Kids. Danny Kelly's portly plea:Dear Listener, ![]() Bye bye cream pie.... Thanks for donating to the BBC WM Kidney Kids Appeal. We are trying to raise one and a half million pounds to help fund a new Renal Unit at the Children's Hospital in Birmingham City Centre. I will be doing my bit by trying to lose 2 stones in four months. Out go the Stella and pies, in come the latest tasteless, insipid, vomit-inducing and lousy low fat incarnation that the BBC canteen's trainee chef comes up with for that week. I will be working like a trojan down the gym five times a week trying to rid myself from the Ed Doolan body suit I seem to have found myself recently wearing. Just two years ago, I weighed in at 16 and a half stone when I became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the Airwaves beating another DJ in a charity boxing fight. ![]() ...hello fit guy I want to try and get back that chiseled jawline and Greek Adonis figure that had all the girls in the office swooning and biting their bottom lip when I walked in to the newsroom. I currently weigh in at a super heavy weight 18 stone 11 pounds. So, please dig deep if you can and put a few quid into the charity. We are well on our way to reaching the target and every little helps.
