Well ok that might be a bit of an exaggeration but you will soon be able to see the Big Screen Birmingham there. If you wander down to the Frankfurt Market in Victoria Square, and peep through the carousel and the stalls full of German fayre, you'll be able to see Big Screen Birmingham in its new location in the city centre. ![]() The new screen A new lookIt doesn't look very pretty at the moment, with hoarding around the bottom and a temporary cladding for the plinth. But as more work is done on it over the next couple of months, you'll see surrounds for the screen being built. In January the screens permanent cladding will be revealed - done in stone to blend in with the stonework on the walls behind and beside it and around the sphinx. ![]() The new screen State of the artAnd while work is being done on the outside, lots of work is being done to update the Big Screen Birmingham control room and play out system, with test transmissions starting to run on the screen some time during December.
