Derek Cox has only been performing his tribute to the King for two months, usually in the pubs and clubs of Birmingham. He acknowledges that he's still honing his skills and looking for his big break.

He auditioned for the Summer Star Search at the Crescent Theatre, which is where Jimmy Franks' team spotted him, and extended an invitation to croon on the radio.

During the day Derek works at a plumbing merchants, but by night he becomes 'D' and performs Elvis' greatest hits.

After his performance, Jimmy Franks said he wished 'D' all the best with his music career. "Of all of the hundreds of Elvises I've worked with across the world", said Jimmy, "He's one of the better ones."
