BBC Radio Berkshire's Phil Kennedy hooked up with his northern drive time show counterpart at BBC Radio Sheffield to react to a recent report that people should move to warmer climes, abandoning the 'economic wasteland' of the north. Policy Exchange, a think tank often employed by the Conservative Party, believes that many towns in the north of England should be abandoned in favour of southern cities. We decided that a bit of friendly north vs south banter might lighten the otherwise risqué topic, setting up a verbal joust between Phil and Howard 'Howie' Pressman on Radio Sheffield. The contest was decided using the local radio weapon of choice - jingles. Though it is not entirely clear who won...
