See below! The rain clouds may have threatened, and the FA Cup Final may have been a big counter attraction, but the RaW Roadshow at Newbury Racecourse was once again a real success. ![]() Writing by the RaW tent With a big free ad in the meeting's race card and a PA announcer talking up our initiative throughout the afternoon, families flocked to the RaW tent to listen to the stories of Mike O'Leary and have a go at a Racing Picture Caption Challenge. While the beer flowed so did the creative descriptions of silly racing pictures. You can see the captions on the following page by clicking on the NEXT button below. Hundreds of Max & Lara activity books got into target group hands either at the tent or as a result of West Berkshire Library Service staff taking armfuls to the family enclosures lacking access to our more 'privileged' position at the course. ![]() Writing a funny caption The highlight of the afternoon must have been Mike O'Leary telling a story and talking up RaW during an interview over the PA system in the Winner's Enclosure where only minutes before Frankie Dettori had been collecting his prize for winning the main race of the day.
