How do you read yours?

You wouldn't normally associate a fast and furious ice hockey game and snuggling down with a good book? But that's exactly what the Basingstoke Bison will be encouraging us to do, at their penultimate home game of the season, and you're all invited.

It's a fast and exhilarating event with something for everyone; it involves a great deal of skill and strength, after all, it can't be easy skating in all that padding!

Generally people arrive around half an hour before the match starts (face-off time), although the ice rink opens an hour before; and if you arrive early you can watch the players warm up.

As part of the special BBC RaW event on 08 March you'll also have the opportunity to have a go at various writing challenges including: match report writing, tabloid style headline writing and an ice hockey action picture caption challenge.

What is RaW?

RaW is the BBC’s biggest ever campaign that aims to help adults across the UK read and write better.

The Bison Club official, Paul Baldwin says: 'We're fully behind what RaW is trying to do and delighted too to be working more closely with BBC Radio Berkshire.'

'It fits in well too with what the Club is trying to do with the local community and with our work with schoolchildren and their parents.'
