In 2025, Radio 1 opened a window for presenters to send their demos to the station, for the opportunity to host shows on the station over Christmas.

You must be aged 18 or over to send us your work.

Meet the 2025 Christmas Presenters

In winter 2025, Radio 1 welcomed 14 new voices to the network, to broadcast a variety of shows across the Christmas period.

This year's line-up showcases a diverse mix of newcomers from student, community, hospital and local radio, as well as BBC Asian Network.

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: "The Christmas Takeover has become a vital part of how we discover and champion the next generation of broadcasting talent. Since 2019, this initiative has helped shape the sound of Radio 1, with many of our alumni going on to secure presenting roles across the network, and I'm incredibly proud of what it has become. I can't wait to hear what our 2025 line-up have to offer, alongside our incredible Christmas Day schedule."

Regular Radio 1 DJs who have come through the Christmas Takeover include Dean McCullough, Vicky Hawkesworth, Nat O'Leary, Sian Eleri, Sam and Danni, Maia Beth, Alyx Holcombe, Charlie Tee, Sarah Story, Jodie Bryant, Martha, Oré Olukoga, James Cusack and Jess Iszatt.
