Multi-million pound road scheme
Details of a multi-million pound plan to improve one of Swindon's busiest roads are being unveiled on Friday.

The Highways Agency says the two proposed schemes will reduce congestion and improve safety on the A419 Swindon to Cirencester bypass.

The latest plans, including computer models, go on show in Liden.

They include detailed designs for a flyover at the Commonhead Roundabout - close to the new Great Western Hospital - and a bypass route at Blunsdon.

People in Blunsdon broadly welcome the plans - because it will take traffic away from the village.

But the scheme at Commonhead has provoked some negative comments, with some residents and environmental groups questioning whether people in the town will get any benefit from the flyover.
