A cannabis factory which police estimate could have produced drugs worth 40,000 a year has been uncovered in Oxfordshire. About 300 cannabis plants were seized by police who raided a house in the Cutteslowe, Oxford, on Tuesday morning.
Southern Electric estimated thousands of pounds of electricity was illegally bypassing a meter into the house.
A woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by police officers.
Pc Leigh Thompson, of Thames Valley Police, said: "We estimate this house could have produced cannabis at street value of some 40,000 a year.
"And a further 12,000 a year in electricity was being bypassed in what was a dangerous and illegal set up that was a serious fire hazard."
