Manchester City Centre's Albert Square was transformed into a huge dance floor on Sunday to mark the first National Veterans Day on 27 June. Swing bands and George Formby and Vera Lynn tribute artists entertained the crowds along with a local dance school.
Councillor Val Stevens, deputy leader of Manchester City Council, said: "The aim was to raise awareness of all who have served in the armed forces.
"We wanted to provide an enjoyable event for people of all ages."
