 Juhan Parts guided Estonia into Nato and the EU |
Estonia's Prime Minister Juhan Parts has announced that he will resign after parliament passed a vote of no confidence in his justice minister. The vote against Justice Minister Ken-Marti Vaher was passed by 54 deputies in the 101-seat parliament.
It followed concerns about Mr Vaher's handling of a controversial anti-corruption plan.
Mr Parts, who said his resignation would take effect on Thursday, added: "The time for this government is over."
Mr Parts has been prime minister of the coalition government for two years. Last year, his country was one of 10 new member states to join the European Union.
