Raven marks 21 years at Tower
Hardey the raven
Hardey with Raven Master Derrick Coyle
One of the ravens which inhabit the Tower of London has been celebrating 21 years of service.

A special ceremony was held in front of the White Tower to give 25-year-old Hardey his anniversary treat of a sheep's heart.

The bird is the oldest raven at the Tower and was donated by a couple from Weymouth, Dorset in 1981.

He is one of seven ravens at the Tower where it is said there must be at least six or the monarchy will fall.

The oldest raven to live there was called Jim Crow and died at the age of 44.
